I opened the plastic wrap around my purse and was blown away by the smell all around me. So I tried to air it. It still stinks. I have an air freshener in it. I love these bags! The large hobo bag stays on my shoulder while the clutch can be used alone or with two other bags. The seller sent the bag for storage and instructions on how to keep your bag in good condition. Definitely recommend!
