Dangerous and shameful!

Used them to pinch a blanket for a newborn photo and 2 of them broke and smashed into pieces. Luckily no one was hurt, especially the newborn. The plastic cracked. What closeness! I'm so nervous about using the clamps again and will be looking for something better. Do not take any risks.

Shouldn't have Heavy Duty in the title - don't buy

Of the six clamps I bought, 4 broke immediately when I tried to use them and I agree with the person who has written that there can be a danger if they break, they scatter. Wear eye protection! So 66% failed. Basically a waste of money. I think the clue should have been the name of the store.

Pros
  • Feels good

Supports lighting and studio well

Does the job. Holds backdrops and blankets well (even when my 90lb dog is on the blanket it stays put). My husband was mad I got these because he said all the "male tool" clips he already had in the garage would do the same. Thing. But they're not expensive and they don't have garage junk on them, so he can suck it :P

  • Complete set

Springs are stronger than plastic - useless and unsafe

I clamped 3 of these around the 1" tube that holds the backdrop. touched something important) About a week later, the same thing happened to another. Either the plastic is weak or the spring is too strong or both.

They were stolen before I could get them

When someone breaks into your home or car, they usually steal valuables. Like your electronics or your classic laserdisc collection, but when the thieves broke into my house, they took it. Yes, they took other things, but it was not visible. I'm not sure why, but they thought they were valuable enough to steal, but they missed out on a whole toolbox full of guy stuff. Maybe it's because these handles were colorful or light. Maybe the burglar was a baby and couldn't take much out of the house on

Reliable and Grippy

These little clamps are a pretty good deal, a rare find when buying photo/video gear. To be honest, this is an industry that thrives on getting every penny out of dreamers who want professional quality but don't want to sell a kidney to get it. Enter those little brackets. You may think I'm not praising this, but they are very useful for hanging photophones, adhesive gels, reflectors, etc. Trust me, you will find many uses for them. Also, those little soft pads on the ends of the pliers are…

VERY DURABLE and ignore user reviews of bugs

They work very well and are actually durable. Guys, some of these negative reviews seem like a scam to me personally. I have ordered them before and use them every day, change the background and hang them everywhere! NONE of them broke the way people show it. 9-10 they clamped them on bricks and tried to keep things 10 times harder so what do you expect? Has anyone shown that the broken part is split and broken at BOTH joints? ... Obviously a user error, because the fault of the manufacturer…
