I love High Sierra backpacks!

I bought this for our 6th grade daughter for school. She loves it! The dark color hides dirt well. She has been using the last 3 years! We have four kids and the High Sierra backpacks were great for their elementary and middle school. They used each day for more than 2 years before we had problems with the zip or just wanted a new one. They also carry their school laptops well with padded compartments. When they entered high school/college, we switched to more durable branded bags due to the…

Back panel creases when worn

This backpack holds items endlessly, but even though it's 4ft 10 inches tall, it doesn't look big on me. It's lightweight and has ALMOST as much organization as I could ask for. After some use, I found one annoying feature. The back panel tends to gather vertically when the bag is held by the shoulder straps - meaning when you're carrying it. It creates a lump on the back, which I don't find uncomfortable (it's like a lumbar pillow on a chair) but I find it psychologically disturbing.

Large volume and beautiful pattern

Excellent backpack. As a student I found that it fits 2 3 ring binders and a textbook for everyday use in class or my relatively large laptop plus a binder and textbook. The extra pockets are very useful for keeping things separate and organized. You can adjust the shoulder straps as well as the side straps to hold the backpack tightly. I also like the pattern because it's unique and vibrant. The only thing I don't like about this backpack is that the material on the edges of the shoulder…

Too small for any purpose other than commuting.

First, it contains a chemical known to cause cancer. Second, it's too small for anything but a laptop or books. It would be good as a day pack for a college student but not so good for an adult using it to hike or go shopping. The zippers only go halfway, making the pockets very difficult to get in and out of and nearly impossible to stuff completely. If you manage to fit something in there, it gets lumpy and uncomfortable because the pockets are so small. When you're full, zippers tend to…

It's a skinny boy!: Backpacking Packs

Backpack is ok and looks like any other backpack. However, the main compartment has strange straps which are very annoying! I always keep mine handy and pretend it doesn't exist. In addition, the pockets can be opened completely. This can be annoying when you're in a hurry and can't find the zipper. If you have a laptop, this is not the best backpack. If you are a student, this is not the best backpack. There's no laptop compartment and it's not very spacious. I can only fit about 3 1" folders…

my favorite backpack. I will always get High Sierra!

I bought this backpack for college. I had Everest but realized the straps wouldn't hold all the books I need. (10 for my first semester in nursing school.) I watched the fat man video on ebags and it covered all the features. I have to tell you that this backpack seems lighter than ever when it had fewer books! The compartments distribute the weight well and if you use the side straps to bring the backpack closer you can have 3 books and feel like 1. I like the extra padding on the back of the…
