I bought this as a gift for my teenage son. I received it today and as soon as I opened it, the smell blew me away. I'm not sure if it was dyed and then placed in a bag before drying, or rubbed with lard that had sat unused for 20 years. 1 WEEK UPDATE: Well. He did NOT survive. After 1 day of use it became apparent that the shoulder strap attachment points (a triangular ring attached to each side of the bag with a thin layer of leather) would not withstand normal use. Why they used such flimsy, flimsy pieces of leather in the most important parts of the bag I don't understand.
