Just what you need in a spoon holder on the stove. Heavy enough not to be knocked around by bats and strong enough not to shatter, just like the beautiful hand-painted ceramic versions when they inevitably fall. Enamel paint ensures it is rust resistant and attractive. The rubber padding material glued to the bottom prevents it from damaging other surfaces. Highly recommended.

With the smithy in the house, we have wrought iron as a theme in every room, but especially in the farmhouse kitchen. They fit and are used by us for cooking spoon holders, tea bags and table spoon holders. They're even great for keeping your eggs from rolling off before you crack them open and fry them - old farmhouses rarely have flat floors - so the counters aren't level either. Easy to wash, beautiful appearance, very durable. We definitely liked the 2 we bought and will be buying more.

I bought this because our previous spoon holder was starting to burn on the stove (sounds like we're just idiots until you look at the attached picture). I was pleasantly surprised at how well this works when you take it into account. I was afraid the foam on the bottom would burn like my last one, but it's been a few months and it looks the same as when I bought it. It also cleans really well with just a sponge and a small drop of soap.
