I normally wear an 8 or 10 in dresses and looking at the sizing chart I ordered an XXL just to be sure it would fit. Well it does fit but it is snug. I ordered this dress for a funeral since it seems so conservative in nature but the dress was too tight to be appropriate in that setting. The length is perfect! I ordered up a size to make it work appropriate. I have narrow hips & a straight waist. Unfortunately this is one of those dresses where there is a significant amount of extra fabric in the hips, and if you don't fill it out, it just looks weird. Like jodpur pants. Such a shame bc otherwise it's a great dress. I could try going down a size but I'd probably run into the same issue, plus it would be tighter and less work appropriate in other areas.
