I didn't even put heating pads in blankets and didn't linger in my ears. It works much better as a neck warmer, at least for me. It's a good product, it just won't stay on my ears unless I tighten the laces so tight I'm choking. even then part of the ear seems to clap ;) But I warmed my neck when I was hunting deer.

I bought this for my husband who works on the dock and has complained that it gets cold with the doors open. He loves to. It was so helpful in keeping him warm. He also likes it without warm insoles.

Bought this for my hubs who have severe neck issues. It doesn't fit tight around the neck. It hung down like the back of a hood. We returned it.

These things are awesome! They stay very hot for several hours. I have some in my boat and they are always up to full power after 5-6 hours.
