Not as advertised! - Accessory

The antenna sent to me oscillates at 129MHz, not in the 2m ham band 144-148MHz as advertised. SWR = 5k at 144MHz. It's an airplane antenna, totally useless to me. It's too late to return.

Pros
 • Sturdy construction
Cons
 • Discontinued

Great Antenna for APRS

I mounted a small antenna magnet on the roof of my Tacoma. I rode it through bushes and low-hanging trees for years, and it's flexible enough to take any load. Excellent sensitivity at 144,390

Pros
 • Cool
Cons
 • For Seniors

Great antenna as advertised.

Use with magnetic mount. Works perfectly. I use my.scanner with it and can put it in the trunk of my car and route the cable to the front. I can hear both the police bands and the trains, which is what I hear the most.

Pros
 • Permanent test results
Cons
 • Vulgarity

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Very cheaply made - CB and radio sets

Although not a mirror image of the manufacturer, the antenna was received boxed and bent. However, it wasn't that hard to straighten it out. The quality of the antenna does not even come close to that of a commercial antenna manufacturer. It also doesn't have a bullet at the tip, making it dangerous and easy to injure your eyes. I ended up using heat shrink tubing with glue inside to create a blunt tip to reduce eye injuries.

Pros
 • Many will do
Cons
 • Some difficulties

Very cheaply made in Portable Audio & Video

Although not a manufacturer's note, the antenna was received stuffed in the box and bent. It wasn't that hard to straighten out, though. The quality of the antenna does not even come close to that of a commercial antenna manufacturer. It also doesn't have a bullet at the tip, making it dangerous and easy to injure your eyes. I ended up using heat shrink tubing with glue inside to create a blunt tip to reduce eye injuries.

Pros
 • VHF: 136-174MHz; SWR: <1.5.
Cons
 • No instructions
