My Dell laptop died as expected. I was able to remove the hard drive and read all files using the ICY Dock on my new laptop. I moved the files but still use the old ICY docking disk as a backup. Works perfectly.

It lights up, but drives attached to it never mount. I tested the same U.2 drives and cables with a different large container and they all worked fine. So I can confirm that the problem was in this dock. Pretty unfortunate as I was really hoping this would work. I returned it for a refund.
