When people say 'slim' optical drive, they don't mean a standard 12.7mm optical drive for laptops, they most likely mean a 9.5mm optical drive. He tried several different laptop optical drives I had on hand: the slot-loading UJ-265 and TS-TB23L and the tray-loading Pioneer, to no avail. All are positioned "thin" but do not fit in the top mount of this docking station. They are all too tall to fit under tongues. With all these 12.7mm optical drives, there's no way I'm going to spend money on a…

It's easy and does the job.

Plastic. This is fine as long as you don't plan to subject your computer to 9G shocks and/or a jackhammer. It actually comes with a big gap door on the front, you have to push it off on the back. It is in fact a slab that acts like a guillotine being placed on it. Once the adapter is installed in the bay, the door cannot be removed until you remove the adapter from the computer. The door will also be about 1/4 inch or about 1 cm from flush, so there will be a gap and it will look like a 1990's…

Pretty decent product at a very good price.

Pro: Suitable for SSD as I needed it. Went into a slot on a pre-built Dell tower, just how I needed it. Space for another SSD and a 3.5" drive. The price is right. Cons: As others have said, plastic. In itself not a minus, but it seems thin and cheap. Но если вы хотите лучшего качества, вы платить за это больше.Крышка переднего слота просто скользит и не удерживается на месте.Она может легко выпасть.Одно из монтажных отверстий было немного отсек для дисковода, прикрепленный к этому отверстию…

Check out the 5.25 drive cover requirements for this bracket

I have a pretty snazzy gaming case, the CORSAIR Vengeance C70, and I wanted to buy a bracket adapter to fit my two Samsung SSDs in a 5th generation .25 bay that I can remove the standard internal drive bays on the bottom of the case to improve airflow. I love the concept of this ICY DOCK Mount Adapter Kit and would love to see it work for me, but unfortunately this product sticks out too far forward that I can't even cover the front bay cover. I don't know how anyone missed this, or maybe my…

MB343SPO - looks great, works great - beware "free " adapter!

In general, that's a good thing. At first I only installed the UHD Slimline ODD so it was good that the 3.5 inch drive bay cover looked good. Fit is decent. For my Fractal Design R5, only two screws hold it well enough. I went back to add a 3.5 inch reader and that's where my heart stopped. Tried to unplug the "free" 6-pin to 15-pin Sata Slimline PSU from the back of the optical drive. Rock, rock, idiot, no. I pulled harder, breaking the plastic of the optical drive's power connector. beep…

Exactly what I wanted

I'm building an ITX PC with just a 5.25" bay optical drive and memory card reader. This docking station, the super slim* CD-ROM drive and the 3.5" memory card reader are exactly what the doctor ordered. Hardware you may want to install a 3.5" hard drive, floppy drive (?!) or accessories in the lower bay and an ultra-slim optical drive in the upper bay. The screws to install in your PCs are self tapping and it takes some effort to fully fasten them. The screw packs are labeled for easy…
