As mentioned in several reviews this wire connector works well with wing nuts. I've had no luck using this with standard yellow off-the-shelf electrical wire connectors that didn't have wings. This is in contrast to several reviews which indicated that this bushing will work with almost any wire nut. There might be a way to get it working with all sorts of wire nuts, but I doubt it.
