This is the third and possibly fourth case for this MacBook. The first (and second) cost $60 at the Apple Store and lasted about 3 months. The second cost $30 and lasted three months. This costs $7. I'll just buy a few more of these to hide away when I need a spare. If it only lasts 3 months, I'm still up front. One unexpected feature that I really like is that it tilts the laptop when open. This ensures a good writing angle. Otherwise, I like the texture and size.

I bought this case for my new MacBook M1. As others have said, the bottom cap doesn't fit a millimeter or so, but the top cap fits fine. If you change the design, it will be the perfect case for the new MacBook. It offers all-around protection that you can't get from other brands. The hinge design makes sense as the M1 chip has excellent thermal performance and rarely turns on the fan. I can imagine how annoying this is for Intel MacBook owners, as the hinge design can easily compromise…
