We love this water mat! It's thick and durable, but unfortunately the valve doesn't close so the water just drains out. Of course we can't use it. My husband thought I was crazy so he examined it and tried his best to close the valve but to no avail. We used a hammer and nothing. I've followed other reviewers suggestions for fish separation and water purity. I wish the inflation valve on the fish end had a flapper to retain air when the valve closed (surprising with so little air in the rim!). It would also be nice if the air valve could be flattened after closing. Since these are features of many of the cheapest air mattresses, this seems like a design flaw or "cheapness".
