That's a really good idea. However, I was disappointed to learn that it cannot be used in the microwave or dishwasher. The description says so too, I just didn't notice it until I saw it on the box when it was delivered. Also, I got the impression that the image of the sleeping puppy disappears when it's hot, but stays there just like the paws. The other two color images appear hot.

I really like the cup and the idea, but it doesn't work as expected. I added boiling water and let it sit for a long time but it stayed black. The only thing I could get to work was to deliver hot water directly to the outside of the mug. It then turned black again as soon as I stopped pouring hot water on the outside of the mug. That's a really cool idea if it actually works as expected. The mug seems too thick for the image to be affected by the liquid in the mug, but you also don't want it…

For your information, the dog's snout is at the bottom of the cup, not inside. It seemed to me from within. The image of the dog's face and the black foil on the sides of the mug are printed material that has been glued to the mug. You can see that in the photos I posted. There is a seam above the handle and along the edges where the two sides meet. There are creases where it wasn't applied quite evenly.
