I bought a size 7/8 for my daughter who just turned 6. The dress is loose fitting and fits her petite/medium build well, but I have a feeling it might be tight for a 7, 7 or 8 year old girl. I'm glad I enlarged. In addition, the clothes are well tailored, perfect for an 18 inch doll and a wonderful gift. Would buy again.

This is the third dress we have received from this brand. All three fit well, look cute and are my daughter's favorites. However, I have to say that this one is much sharper and more subtle than the others. Your underwear is transparent. Since I'm a bit disappointed, my daughter is very happy with this dress.
