The lid sometimes works. In most cases it only closes halfway. After only using it once in the pool, it stopped working properly. It only got worse after he hit the ocean. I've soaked it in fresh clean water after each use, but it still doesn't work properly. I gave 2 stars because it offers some lens protection.

Easy to mount on TG-5 ring. Most of the stuff looks decent, but the lens cap itself is easy to open with a little pressure. It offers basic fingerprint protection (that's the main reason I bought it), but it won't put up much resistance against a blunt object. As long as you have the right expectations I think this cover will work well.

Bought this lens protector for my Olympus TG-3 waterproof camera. I used it on my kayak trips and wanted it to protect the lens from water droplets in the aquatic environment. After the first use, the lid was difficult to open and I couldn't clean it. So now I have a lens cap that is difficult to open.

I bought this lens cap in April. Didn't really use it until we went on vacation to Utah to visit 4 national parks. Will not open after 10 days of use. I had to remove the lens cap completely to photograph the rest of my trip. I contacted the manufacturer and they replied once but did nothing and I never heard from them again. I do not recommend this product.

This unit works well as a lens cap but I did not find it to be as strong as the TG-6 itself. A few days ago I dropped the camera about 4 feet and as a result this device is now stuck in the open position. However, I have no reason to think an Oly product would perform better. Since I need a lens cap, I will order another one and try not to drop the camera again.

This lens cap is used to cover the fixed lens when the camera is not being used very well and I would recommend it. I took the time to apply a thin layer of silicone to the moving petals that move to cover the fixed camera lens and removed excess silicone after opening and closing the lens cover several times. This made opening and closing the lens cap even easier.

Great case at a great price. Very well done and studied. I used a removable cover before getting this one and have always lost it. This one is great, it attaches to the camera and you can flip it over to take photos. You don't have to worry about falling or losing it. I am very happy with this product, plus it costs 3 times less than the Olympus version.

I have the TG-6 and love the camera. But I wanted something to protect the lens when the camera was hanging on my fishing vest or sitting on the seat of my truck. I saw it and realized wow what a deal! This is great stuff and works great. It replaces the front ring on the lens. So be careful where you put it. It is easy to close and open and also allows you to ensure that the lens is not scratched or otherwise damaged.

This protection is working as intended. In the closed position, however, the shutter (closing) offers little resistance. So it can be easily opened with a light pressure.
