I was using this bag for 2 months to carry my laptop, some papers, a lunch bag and a water bottle to and from the subway when the shoulder strap came loose. Unfortunately, they have no structural support. The leather details are cosmetic in nature and the shoulder strap is sewn directly onto the canvas bag. In my opinion, unless you're carrying cotton balls to and from work, that's bad design. Repairing/reinforcing the bag costs me more than buying anything else.

This is a very roomy bag (holds a 15" laptop and up), but the outside pockets are zipped and unzipped. I'm not a very good seamstress, but I'll try to sew them back on. The material is durable. Carhartt thought it was a bit due to the tan color and heavy material just to give an idea of the looks.
