Like some who bought this knife, I like the classic design of the Kabar knife but don't like the military unit logo which I don't deserve. Luckily, Kabar made this knife with their classic dog head logo and added a different cross and pommel. Hunting, camping, bushcrafting, heck, even fishing, it'll get the job done. This knife is great like every Kabar 7 in the models. The layered leather handle is very grippy, at least when dry, without trying to soil it for any lumps. I've always liked a vintage marine knife. However, I am a military retiree. I've never felt good about carrying a Marine Corps knife because I never earned that right. Just as I would be annoyed if someone wore a ranger's beret without earning it. When this knife came out I was thrilled.
