Great product and service

My first KA-BAR and I love it! This knife was recommended to us by an active friend of the USMC. He was absolutely right that it was a great knife! Ready to use, excellent quality, genuine leather sheath; I highly recommend this knife! The seller shipped immediately with no problems and delivered an excellent product. I especially liked this one because it has a dog's head on it. There are knives/sheaths with Armed Forces emblems, but I have not served this great country and did not want to…

Ideal for civil use.

Like some who bought this knife, I like the classic design of the Kabar knife but don't like the military unit logo which I don't deserve. Luckily, Kabar made this knife with their classic dog head logo and added a different cross and pommel. Hunting, camping, bushcrafting, heck, even fishing, it'll get the job done. It comes with a strong leather sheath that will pierce if you tilt the knife the wrong way. (User error on my part) In a sea of good knives available this is a solid choice…

Great knife, mediocre sheath

I collect Ka Bars and this one intrigued me. Another hammer and another logo. While I was in the Marine Corps, I like that this one is different. I recently bought another Ka Bar and it was decent, including the sheath. This cover disappointed me. It was mediocre compared to all other Ka Bar leather sheaths I've seen and even fake ones. But I decided to dye it with ox blood and rub it with carnuaba cream and it got a little better. The flaw is that the scabbard was not properly finished. The…

Like a marine, only better!

Like the US Navy model, this knife is a real workhorse and more than just a "knife". It's a durable tool that can withstand tons of abuse. Again, like its USMC counterpart, this knife features a high-performance 7-inch anti-reflective coating unlike that of the US Marines, and the pommel is teardrop-shaped rather than a button pommel. As someone who owns and loves multiple USMC models, I prefer the dog head version even more. It requires just as much abuse, but the difference in pommel makes it

This knife is good, really good

Internet photos are inadequate. This knife is good, very good. I bought this as a Christmas present for my brother in law as we swap knives every year. We used to buy Case's knives for each other, and last year he went even further and gave me a fixed blade as a gift. This year, not to be outdone, I wanted to buy him a fixed blade, but you're a bit limited with Case knives. I wanted to stick with American knives so I figured why not use the Ka-Bar standard for American combat knives. Neither he

Great knife and unique

This knife is great like every Kabar 7 in the models. The layered leather handle is very grippy, at least when dry, without trying to soil it for any lumps. I already have a notched Kabar 1212 model with a Kraton handle which I beat pretty well so I know they are durable and I've seen plenty of breakage tests on YouTube, the knife was razor sharp straight away. The leather case was just as tough as a new Mit, but I oiled it and put a knife in it to shape it and it was noticeably better after 20

Exactly what I wanted

I've always liked a vintage marine knife. However, I am a military retiree. I've never felt good about carrying a Marine Corps knife because I never earned that right. Just as I would be annoyed if someone wore a ranger's beret without earning it. When this knife came out I was thrilled. In fact, this is the same knife without the logo, but with an improved guard and pommel. The faint cross was the only thing I never liked about the old marine knife. So far it seems to be exactly what I wanted.

A beautiful, comfortable knife with the expected quality KA-BAR

Although it has been mentioned many times before, this knife is essentially the same as the original KA-BAR marine combat knife, except it has a wider pommel and a cross. The knife and scabbard also has the "Dog Head" symbol instead of "USMC" which I particularly like because I'm not in the military and don't feel I should be wearing the symbol of my service. don't belong. Also, I've read rumors that KA-BAR Dog Head knives will become more collectible and valuable over time, although I can't…
