Bought two of these - one worked great, one not so well

Bought two of these - one worked great and the other not so well. They messed up the signal so we sent another one back. 50% success gives you 3 stars in my book.

Pros
  • Stereo audio input via 3.5mm jack
Cons
  • sad package

Good unit but for a shorter cable

I am using this extender to extend a VGA signal almost 1000 feet over CAT 6 cable to send, but the quality is very poor for this distance. So I used a second Kanex Pro Extender and a VGA repeater halfway to get a good picture on the monitor.

Pros
  • Adjust GAIN and PEAK levels to accommodate different UTP cable lengths at the receiver
Cons
  • Everything is fine

it went bad. I was only using 3-4 hours a week

It failed after about a year of use. It only took me 3-4 hours a week and this is my third block. Two other units had the same problem which lasted about a year and then died. I contacted their tech support to get a replacement but it took a couple of weeks to get a response from them. I told them I would like a replacement and they said to contact the store I bought it from. The? Should I contact Revain for a warranty repair? If you don't plan to use it for a few months, don't buy it.

Pros
  • High definition VGA signal extension with audio over a single Cat5E/6 cable up to 300m (1000ft)
Cons
  • Ratio set

Revain was great, accepted the return and replaced it with another Kanex.

Unfortunately, this article did not fit. We tested swapping all the cables several times, but the final image was missing the "Red" in the "RGB" signal. Revain took the return well and replaced it with another Kanex Pro VGA 1x1, but the second unit didn't fit either. So far only "blue” has been transmitted this time. Again, swapping cables and setting up a completely different "local" boot didn't help. Sorry but this is one.

Pros
  • Supports maximum resolution up to WUXGA (1920x1200@60Hz)
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
