Don't waste money on this!

I bought two fans from Revain, Kensington 62648 FlyFan USB Notebook Fan and Thermaltake Mobile Fan II External USB Cooling Fan. Kensington FlyFan is noisy, it makes high frequency noise which is very annoying are. I only used it for 4 hours and it has been sitting in my desk drawer ever since. waste of money! If you need laptop fan, please use Thermaltake Mobile Fan II external USB fan. My Thermaltake Mobile Fan II external USB fan is plugged in 24/7, it's cheap, quiet and worth every penny!

Pros
  • Small enough to take with you anywhere
Cons
  • Can be damaged

GREAT. until the cat ate it.

I bought this fan because my laptop tends to overheat. It worked great and cooled my laptop very well. The neck is stiff enough to lean where needed and it stays in place. The wind is surprisingly strong, and despite being aimed at the keyboard, it also cools me down. It was lightweight and easily fit in a computer bag. There was a slight hum, but it wasn't much louder than the fan inside the laptop. I was very impressed and used it almost continuously for two weeks. until my cat ate the fan…

Pros
  • Minimal power consumption for all-day cooling
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Other reviewers have noted that it's a bit noisy, generating white noise (like all fans do), but even in the on-campus library, which is stereotypically quiet, the noise can't even be heard from the nearby cube. I figured at this price they might not last more than a year or so before blowing through and it's too early to tell if my…
