High failure rate of KMC-45 microphones

Purchased 4; All 4 failed within 2 years. I can't say I had the same issues with the KMC-17 or KMC-21 mics. Not impressed at all.

Pros
  • High performance speaker microphone
Cons
  • No paint required

Great quality!: Accessory

Great build quality, still smells nice and new after 1 month of use, the speaker and mic are actually better quality than what I found on the radio itself. If you can cut costs, you won't be disappointed.

Pros
  • Rotating belt clip
Cons
  • No power

External microphone and earphone,

Lapel microphone rolled into a handheld speaker. Meets military requirements. Mine lasted 14 years and still worked, but the cord started having problems with the rubber around it. Began to crack and peel off. Revain delivered it and the item was as advertised.

Pros
  • Can be used with KEP-2 earphone
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine

Great emergency mic

This is the second mic I have bought for my Kenwood radio. All I can say is that I should have looked a little closer the first time. I've been using this mic for a month and a half to two months now and haven't had any problems so far. Radio traffic is routed clearly through the speaker and there are no communication problems.

Pros
  • Replaces the discontinued KMC-17
Cons
  • Slightly dented
