I've moved into an old house and don't want to drink tap water. I researched all the water options and finally decided to buy water from our local spring but had trouble lifting 5 gallon bottles onto the water dispenser. Update 10/26/20: I still like this container for continuous kombucha cooking but the lid is rusting. I recently had to put my beer in the fridge so I used the metal lid that came with it, it was starting to rust. I was looking for an inexpensive container for continuously brewing kombucha and this one fit the bill. The stainless steel bowl is very pretty. I've been using BPA-free plastic containers to dispense water and was kind of frustrated when I looked for a glass alternative as they just don't come in larger sizes. I became aware of this dispenser and tried it out. That's a very good piece. The spout is made of solid metal and looks very solid. I filled this jar absolutely to the brim and let it sit for a week and it didn't spill. PS, never expect a valve to be wide open with that much water in it. The water pressure was like a garden hose!
