I've read the book and it shows some nice projects but I haven't made any of them yet. It's well written and will be easy for me to follow if I decide to make something of it.

I was expecting slightly more complex patterns from the book I bought. CT Publishing should offer most of these as free templates on their website to sell more products. You should consider using sites like Garn by Lion Brand as an example. offer good free templates that use the specific products they sell. I'm a bit disappointed with this purchase.

If you've worked with Kraft-Tex and like it, this is a great introduction to exploring other uses. If you haven't used the product yet, you can order a yard and play with it - it requires a large needle, a machine with a powerful motor (not a professional machine, but not a light one either), and you'll have to have some patience to get around working with a bulky but tough stuff, but the reward is worth it. You get the leather look, feel and durability without the weight and price of leather.
