The locking knob works great, but there isn't much material to hold it in place. They are approximately 1.5 turns from the handle exit when the screw is far enough away for the receiver to be placed on a stand or other device.

If you are just installing a lightweight part, this could be perfect for you. I installed a gimbal, camera, monitor, focus unit and batteries that were too heavy for a 1/4-20 tripod. The post bent and then broke when I tried to bend it in place. I don't blame this adapter. My setup was too heavy for that. And I had to screw 1/4-20 washers to the post to secure it top to bottom.
