🔊 Lepy LP-168S: Enhance Your Audio Experience with Hi-Fi Stereo Amplifier Review

This little amp is cool! I paired it with an 8" subwoofer and a pair of cheap 5.25 speakers in my virtual pinball cabinet and the bass was causing TILT. Good sound. Very happy with this amp.

I don't remember how long it took, all different volts, different screws, some of them have bad SHM channels. When it works, it sounds amazing. Decided to use only DC 12v, 5 to 10 amp adapters, which works great.

When I first connected the subwoofer it was clear that the subwoofer output was just a fake label. This amplifier does not reproduce the frequencies needed to activate the subwoofer. Instead, the subwoofer attempted to reproduce the vocals. Unfortunately I wasn't able to further evaluate conventional speakers as the amp died after about 3 minutes of testing. When playing music, it suddenly went silent and never recovered.

This product is installed in a Pelikan boombox that I built. The general build quality is excellent, except for one small thing that I don't like. The amp uses its case as a heat sink, so the underside gets very hot. This, in addition to the fact that it's black, makes it difficult to stay cool when used outdoors. Besides, I like it. I bought this to add a 2nd user 2.1 output to a project. I already have an LP-168HA with great bass. The characteristics of the LP-168S are similar but better than those of the LP-168HA. However, the LP-168S has SIGNIFICANTLY less bass. I ended up using the 168S for 2 channels and relocated my 168HA to work with the subwoofer which I relocated. feels like about 20% of the power of 168HA. I have installed two of these amps in different slot machines. They work great for this application and have more than enough power. The audio is clear, I didn't notice any electrical interference or hum from any device. Seems like a lot of slots enthusiasts use them and that's how I found them.
