3 of 4 Lexar SD memory cards DEFECTIVE

I bought 4 Lexar cards in September 2017 - today 2nd February 2021 my 3rd card failed - can't access photos on it - exactly like the other 2. I throw the fourth one away because I don't want to lose any more photos. The reason I decided to write a review even though I've had it for a little over 3 years is because I have Sandisk memory cards that I've had twice as long and they still work great. I just ordered 2 more SD memory cards and they are not Lexar.

Pros
  • Good to use
Cons
  • Repair

Works like a champ on my wife's Nikon D7100 when shooting video.

Runs like a champ in my wife's Nikon D7100 and records videos at full speed. Excellent price. As always, explore your camera's capabilities in terms of recording to the card. There's no need to buy a card that can handle a lot more than the camera can record. Just avoid bottlenecks.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great, fast cards! in memory cards

With two card slots on my camera, I shoot in Raw and JPG, often at 11 fps. I've never had buffering problems. I keep hearing people complain about their SD cards failing during important events. NOT these! From wildlife to sporting events, from portraits to landscapes, these cards are my pick!

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Expandable

love these cards! good for SD cards

I have a camera that can accept both CF Express and SD cards. They write almost as fast WITHOUT the overheating issues I've experienced with CF. These are quality cards at a very reasonable price. I have several of these, they take videos and photos with no problem. I always keep them in my cell with backups in my pocket.

Pros
  • also understandable for old ones
Cons
  • annoying

Good, reliable and fast memory

I like these memory cards because they have enough space for what I do with my photo. My camera downloads large RAW files to the hard drive at a very high speed, allowing me to take many pictures without waiting for my files to load. Not only that, they are reliable. I don't need a card crash after taking some important photos.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • I really don't like anything, everything is good

Lexar, especially Lexar SD cards - thumbs down

Cards look nice, work fast and snappy. That's all. If you're worried about damaging your camera (I use Nikon), laptop or desktop (I use Macbook Pro and iMac), I strongly recommend NOT buying Lexar SD cards. Man they break so easily and the part that holds the pins falls apart easily. I damaged the SD card slots on my Nikon D810 and Macbook Pro. I had to pay Nikon to fix it. Macbook didn't care, just bought another card reader.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Some little things

may be counterfeit - Computer Accessories & Peripherals

I was curious as to why these cards were initially difficult to slide in and out of my camera and noticed an odd little sticker on them that wasn't there before. earlier cards read: "Lexar, a subsidiary of Longsys, a Chinese company. I did a test with the sdspeed app and found that all data was written/read but the speed was much slower than my known official card. Reliable professional cards

I've been a commercial photographer for 15 years and the memory cards I use have to be absolutely reliable every time! I get thousands upon thousands of dollars for every shoot I do and I can't risk my cards breaking, making mistakes, etc. during my campaigns. I've been using Lexar Pro for as long as I can remember. I normally use black and gold Lexar Pro CF cards but recently added a Canon 5d mk 4 to my kit and wanted to shoot RAW to SD and JPEG to CF cards so I had to add SD cards to my kitโ€ฆ

  • SD cards
