Stupid Assembly - Tricycles, Scooters & Vans

I am giving this product one star because of the assembly process. The instructions are easy to follow, but the steps are not that easy to follow. There are a lot of hammer blows, and it's easy to hammer metal bars at an angle. I accidentally broke off the middle part of the handle because the stock was too short. It shouldn't be that easy to hack. I trusted Little Tykes because it's a well known brand that has always been around. However, I would think twice before ordering any other product…

BUYER ATTENTION! Not checked properly

I ordered two of these Little Tikes push and ride racers for my twins. One was missing all 3 metal bars and had no pre-drilled holes to insert parts. The husband bought metal rods of the same thickness, cut them out to make both twins happy, and drilled new holes himself. These aren't difficult tasks, but it becomes a real pain when you pay for something and end up doing all the work. The bundled one had a sticker that read "Packaged with pride by K. Kelly," but the one that was missing parts…

Cannot be assembled properly.

If I could I would give this toy zero stars as the assembly process and instructions do not match the toy itself. I have collected lots of furniture (thanks Souder) and toys and have never had so much trouble putting an item together. The holes don't match, the instructions only have blurry pictures and some of the pictures are just plain wrong. Some parts won't stay on even if you follow the instructions. And - it cost the same as another toy I bought at the same time that came fully…

Very dangerous, falling apart, parts don't fit

It's so tedious to put together, the metal rods that hold the wheels, seat and handlebars in front are very short together and very difficult to fit into the holes so that they converged from one end of the toy to the other. The red button latch to hold these bars in place doesn't fit, we banged and pounded to put it all together and when the kid got on it to ride it fell apart, the front red part of the handle just cracked right off the toy and the child fell forward on his head. The red…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Terrible assembly, broke after 1 week, no extra parts, impossible to handle. The assembly requires a lot of tinkering and with this and the lack of additional parts there is no room for error. Even after proper assembly, the red element separated from the metal element and a day later the metal element separated from the rod that secures the red handle to the machine. Bought it for my 9 month old twins for Christmas and my parents bought 2 cars (for their house) of a different brand and the…

Assembly tips below. It's a pain!

Looking through the reviews, I saw that the biggest complaint was that it was difficult to assemble. Well I'm not new. I consider myself quite adept at assembling the most complex pieces of furniture and toys, and actually enjoy it. I've been assembling children's stuff for almost 2 years. It was the most frustrating thing I've ever had to collect. No doubt. I will recommend this product and give you some tips! 1. Instructions suck. I found it easier to hold both end caps by hammering the end…
