This rack is ideal for pots up to 7" in diameter or slightly larger. This comes in very handy for my stainless steel pan which is just under 7 inches! As it's made by Lodge I was surprised they didn't make larger trivets for their large cast iron skillets or Dutch ovens. I have a Lodge Dutch Oven that is significantly larger than 7 inches so I cannot use it. Glad I ordered an 11" cast iron skillet/Dutch oven rack! (This will be checked later.) The Lodge silicone pot holder is very easy to handle and use. Just lay it flat on the surface and it's ready for hot pots, pans, baking sheets and even doubles as a nice stand for a hot carafe.
