I'm in love with Dishes & Servingware

My mum wanted a french style butter dish for her birthday. I laughed at her. It arrived and she poured oil into it. I am ashamed that I did not know these wonderful things before. It is great. Now I understand why my mother wanted it. I'll get one too. Keeps butter fresh but is AS easy to spread on toast as Kristi Yamaguchi is on ice cream.

PERFECTION! on Butter Dishes

Since we buy large blocks of grass-fed butter to spread, we need something that can hold a full 1 pound block, that will keep the butter soft and look appealing on our dinner table. Table. This oiler delivered all of those things! Most oilers are white or rustic in design, which didn't necessarily fit our aesthetic. This black oil bowl goes perfectly with our more modern decor. A bonus is that the circumference of the pot was identical to the round cutouts on our lazy susan that the spice bowls

My grandma had one for dining and entertaining

I waited a week before checking so I could tell how fresh the oil would be. Usually changing it about every week and a half is enough for me (it's almost 1.5 US cups). Results: The oil is very fresh. It doesn't have that slight color and smell change that happens when I use plastic or glass containers. After a few days the oil started to look and smell a little fishy. I'm 60 and remember one of my grandmothers using something similar over 50 years ago. Problem is, I wasn't sure how much water…
