A Ring Light is the best source for close up photography. And that makes the macro LED ring flash the perfect choice for photographers who require shadow free illumination - perfect for medical scientific and forensic photography. great for dental photos, insects, flowers, coins, stamps, etc. You can control the output level of the LEDs and select all or half of them to fire - 48 LEDs for full lighting , 24 LEDs to create purposeful shadows on three dimensional subjects. Problem LED flashlight Rig Light

Things I don't like about this ring flash: 1) when you select the device for constant light display (as opposed to camera flash control), there is a very audible high-pitched hum; 2) The ring is what you see in your photos; 3) You can only slightly dim the brightness, although the lens caps are included; 4) You cannot use the lens cap when the device is attached to the lens.

Pros
  • The versatility of this macro flash is complemented by four diffusers that soften the light - translucent, warming, white, blue. It features an energy-saving LCD screen for longer use.
Cons
  • Slightly serviceable

Great gadget and fantastic value for money

This ring light is perfect. I have a Canon Eos 350D and have been looking for such light sources for a long time. There are so many to choose from but this one was definitely a good choice! It works exactly as the description says, and additional attachments and filters are an added bonus. Since then I've tried it in different conditions and I'm very happy with the results!

Pros
  • You can control the output level of the LEDs and choose whether to turn on all or half of them - 48 LEDs for full illumination, 24 LEDs for creating targeted shadows on 3D objects. You can also switch from flash firing mode to continuous shooting. Always on lets the camera decide what exposure is best and provides continuous light when using camcorders or HD video mode on compatible digital cameras.
Cons
  • Some bugs

Works perfectly. in macro and ring light flashes

I got this a few hours before I got a Canon EF 100mm macro lens, so I tried it with a Tameron 70-300mm macro lens (not really macro). The 62mm adapter rings didn't hold onto the Tameron lens very well. but I could try. When I received the Canon EF 100mm macro lens, I found that the 58mm adapter ring fits the Canon lens perfectly. I was planning on using a Canon lens anyway, so I don't care if it doesn't work with a Tameron lens. The Tameron lens is great for wildlife photography, especiallyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Includes 8 ring mounts (49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm) for different lenses
Cons
  • Reliability
