I love it! I use it with my Ad200

Love it! I use it with my Ad200 and it has become my go to mod as I shoot a lot on location. This gives the light a warmer feel compared to the bare bulb I noticed. I think my next magmod purchase will be Bounce.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Overall ok but...

Diffuse light best with diffusers

I love the magnetic ball. I use it to throw light on my AD200s. My only complaint is that it turns yellow over time, which shifts the white balance. So I always have to keep this in mind when shooting in color shifting situations. But qualitatively. heavy things. Easy to put in my pocket.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Every photographer should have one!

I used MagSphere for the first time last weekend filming an engagement. Needless to say it exceeded all my expectations! I love how light it is so I think my umbrella and softbox will stay at home from now on. Buy the best light modifier! You won't regret adding this to your outfit!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Great solution, best choice Flash accessory

I take a lot of photos, but flashes are probably my least used. This is a great solution for creating soft light without having to go crazy with a bunch of accessories. A NOTICE. It is easy. So if you have a flash that won't snap, it can be difficult to adjust the angle without making it harder.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Great diffuser! Magnetic, very playable, easy to store. The only criticism is that the rubber at the base where the magnets are located turns yellow over time. Even when properly stored in a handy bag and later in my Pelikan case. I am not deducting a star as I did not contact the manufacturer and actually bought 3 pieces. MagMod makes fantastic professional products. I wish they had made more little lights.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not the best

You'll also need a mag grip. . .

Now that I've looked at the page I see that MagGrip is required. I bought the sphere and thought it plugged in and worked right away. I'm not sure why this isn't posted somewhere where it can't be overlooked. Or that there is no set consisting only of these two items. Pretty frustrating because now I realize I have to spend more money on a flash diffuser. . .I have seen it in action and am convinced of its performance. But now I get $75 for silicone and magnets. I decided to purchase so…

Works great to soften the direct effect of the flash on the subject

This works much better than any built in flash diffuser I know of. This was particularly useful outdoors for portrait work. Although I'm sure a low enough ceiling will also help focus the flash on the subject. Note that there is another version that widely uses the flash for situations where there is now a ceiling. So I bought both. I mostly shoot in TTL. I suppose the manual flash setting is trial and error, which is fine no matter how you use your flash. I use the off-camera flash mount. But…

Excellent light balance around the globe

This is a great addition to a wireless flash and any camera mounted flash. As a modifier, this is the best I've used. The light is soft and even. I took it with me on a trip abroad and just folded it in my camera bag. When I took it out, it returned to its original shape and was ready to go. Here are a few things to remember: 1. A black magnetic tape is required to attach to your flash/strobe. You can't just buy and use this item.2. It's VERY expensive and the addition of a black rubber…
