Ideal tripod for entry-level spotting scopes

Ideal tripod for entry-level spotting scopes. I have others but this one is light on the wrists and easy to walk. Bought as a gift to a friend. Love it.

This is the best heavy duty tripod you can buy

I bought a lightweight ball head tripod but my heavy Nikon Coolpix P1000 caused the camera to tilt down instead of staying still . This tripod keeps it right where I need it.

Tripod is great but movable head is not

Tripod is great but movable head is not. The camera does not maintain a horizontal position while panning. My friend and I both bought the same setup, we both have the same problem. I swapped the head for a cheap ball head.

You can pan from left to right as many times as you like. just don't try right to left.

You can swing left to right all day. However, when panning from right to left, the head detaches from the tripod. No matter how hard you twist that center pull, after a day or two, or maybe ten minutes, the head unscrews. How is it not caught?
