Good polarizer on polarizing filters

I have used many polarizers and bought this one based on Lenstip.com test reviews. Everything seems fine so far. Easy to clean, ring fastness is good, not too loose, color fastness and highlights are not a problem. The Hoya HD and B+W polarizers are just as good but more expensive, but you get tempered glass (Hoya HD) and better mounts (B&W). It only matters if you use them heavily, wear them and abuse them like a pro. I'm quite happy with it based on the multi-coating, color, lack of color…

So far so good - Accessory

After my precious and expensive B+W Kaesemann got dusty (seems to be delaminating, ie it now shows lines inside and this is after the utmost care in finishing) I got a A worthy replacement was required, and this Marumi seems to fit the bill. I haven't done the ultimate test (for me) which means photographing clouds, but it seems to work on the same level. Turning isn't as smooth as the B+W, but it feels well built and hopefully doesn't fall apart like the German brand. I'll update to 5 stars…

Great price - great product

It amazes me how much multilayer filters cost today. In fact, really high-quality lenses cost as much as a cheap lens! I wanted to buy a pair of thin circular polarizing filters. A 77mm filter can cost as much as $300. That's a lot of money. So here is a multi-layer thin filter at a very reasonable price. It's well made, fits the lens well, and even has a lip so you can still attach the lens cap. I pointed these filters directly at the sun and they do very well with direct light like my high…

Quality product at a great price.

You can't go wrong with these filters, for the price and construction they are on par with many more expensive models. I've lined up this model and several others, they all worked great. I tried cheap filters and just threw my money away. Borrowed some black and white filters from a friend for the weekend and was blown away. He then suggested this stamp based on the article he had read. Decided to get them from Revain, good returns policy, and seen some great reviews here too. I bought three…

I like it better than my Kaesemann circular polarizer XS-Pro from B+W

This filter is fantastic. Provides rich color saturation without creating an artificial or overdone effect. Of course, it effectively reduces glare as it should. I also have a B+W XS-Pro Kaesemann circular polarizer with multi-resistant nano-coating and I actually like the Marumi much better. It's just a hair thicker than the B+W (barely noticable) and costs $40 less than the B+W. At 24mm I have no vignetting. I haven't tried anything wider, but I don't think you'll have a problem unless you go

High quality filter

This filter is essential for any wide angle lens when capturing sunny landscapes. Easy to clean, build quality is very tight. I used to shoot with a $20 filter and had no idea how much better a real filter works until I screwed this baby onto the end of my lens. I've always loved how this filter colors the sky a deep crystal blue when taken at right angles to the sun. sweet filter; Don't be stingy if you have an expensive lens with a cheap filter, or you can just use the kit lens and leave the…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Only available in white

I've been using it for a long time, I'm very satisfied. I picked it up after reading polarizer reviews on Lenstips.com and this one landed with the best of them. What I liked: - Well built - Sleek, works well with wide angle lenses too - Smooth but no dangling rotary motion - Much cheaper than a similar quality CPF - Still has a leading edge/thread for attaching a lens hood/other filter - Very neutral, doesn't cause significant shifts - Cleans up well Considerations: - So thin that you have to…

Does what it's supposed to and doesn't cost a fortune

Very high quality coverage and exactly the image I was looking for. I have the 77mm version and use it on several lenses, some with zoom adapters. As you'd expect, the filter adds contrast and separation by eliminating light from certain angles. This is a great way to eliminate harsh glare and reflections, or boost the blue of the sky. A polarizer is a very useful tool that should come with your camera. Anyway, I've only used Hoya CPL filters in the past, which may not be the best, but I've…
