The bottom has been used once to create a vacuum. I like check valves. It doesn't appear to be leaking, but I only tested it for 30 minutes. Very satisfied.

would be 5 stars but no vacuum hose like many other people said. I don't need it but it says it comes as a kit, either remove it from the description or put it in its package

I'm by no means an expert on HVAC systems, but when I kept having problems with my system and the specialists couldn't figure it out, I went to YouTube and found a video diagnosing my problem. They were essential in finding out I had a bad TXV valve. I tested their accuracy with one of the fancier digital valves that one of the techs used. Worth the money spent between this and a temperature multimeter!

I bought the cheaper Mastercool instruments first but decided to go back and buy these instead. The price difference makes up for the fact that it comes with hose assembly valves and the added benefits of a sight glass and carrying case. So far I haven't had any problems with them. No leaks, they worked straight away and proved accurate. I used a similar set many years ago but they were branded as r134a snap on tools. I absolutely loved them and they were really tough. It's basically the same with the same design. Now I use them as HVAC service technology and expect the same result as my other set. As mentioned, this kit does not include the 3/8 vacuum hose that it says is included.
