No problems, best on blank media

If you want these ribbons, buy them. They work fine. Good value too. I hope they keep doing this until my analog stuff dies.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Useless features

Microcassettes

Three cassettes were broken when I received the package. They're getting harder and harder to find, so I bought more microcassettes. With so many failures, it was disappointing.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • not reliable

a pack of 60 minute Maxell cassettes is great

Very few of us journalists use a tape recorder and a dictaphone anymore; but i do My old cassettes were so worn out that my recordings were no longer recorded on them. I now have these new cassettes and they work great in my Pearl transcriber.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • I'll write later

Excellent for recording lectures.

This particular product was used so that I could record my lectures for class. I have used Maxell's types in the past and have found the product to be quite reliable, even more so than recording lectures on a mobile phone.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some shortcomings

Product hard to find but. . .

Our office still likes to use tape recorders. It's getting hard to find microcassettes. They work well but snag easily and once the tape is crumpled they need to be thrown away. Maybe they've been sitting on the shelf for a long time and become brittle, or the tape is just super thin, I'm not sure. I have found that after opening a new cassette, fast-forwarding to the end and then rewinding to the beginning before beginning dictation quickly stretches the tape over the reels and avoids jams.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
