Description of Maxima 55901 10WT Standard Hydraulic Fork Oil - 1L Bottle, BLACK: Premium Performance for Smooth Fork Movements

Maxima Fork Oils are formulated from the highest quality base oils and advanced additives to prevent foaming, seal hardening, oxidation and stiction. Lubricinol provides for very low sliding friction and protects internal components from wear. Temperature stable viscosity provides for constant fork action and terrain compliance for the front wheel. For all front suspension systems, both standard and cartridge. 5wt fork oil is normal service weight for MX applications, can be blended for intermediate viscosities.

It's fork seal oil and it's fine.

Can't say I'm a fan of fork seals. This oil is inexpensive and works. I gave it five stars but this is one of those five or zero star products.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • No performance

Works great on fork tubes

have used these on my 2018 Honda CRF110F they work great and feel so much better. If you haven't already, try changing the oil in your motorcycle's fork as it will greatly affect the smoothness.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Ok

Good product for Harley forks

I use this 10 weight fork oil when repairing front forks on Harley front forks. This reduces fork rebound since standard Harley fork oil only weighs 5. The high viscosity helps reduce front fork roll.

Pros
  • Still satisfied
Cons
  • No automatic transmission

too much money - plugs and accessories

The cost is too high for what it is. It's just hydraulic oil or some other form of transmission oil. but since it has a "motorcycle" on it, the price is TRIPLE of what it's worth. it is NOT synthetic, it is NOT intentional. It's just a light oil.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Obsolete model

2012 Fz6r good fork fluid for road riding

Pairs well with 2012 Yamaha Fz6r forks. The bike rides well after the change and does not leak. I have used this replacement fluid at home in my garage and would recommend it to road riders with a 600 road/touring bike.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

10W = HD Type B for those looking for cheaper parts HD

Much cheaper than buying Harley Davidson fork oil. Maxima says right on the label that 10W is equivalent to Type B HD fork oil. I would definitely buy it again if needed. Haven't used it yet but I reckon it's better now than probably 39 year old fork oil!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Easily torn

It's fork oil. Best in Suspension

I used this when rebuilding the forks on a 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650. It's clean and clear, with no traces of additives or other substances that can stick the forks. A liter is enough to fill both forks to 101mm with little left over. Not that it matters, but it doesn't taste as bad as factory fork oil. Wear a face mask when pumping up your forks.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Reliable

04 FXDL- 10W- Excellent!

Holy smokers! I didn't understand how much this would change the situation. I just fixed a new old bike for myself. The old oil was probably original, 17 years old, smelled like rotting whale carcass and looked even worse. Opaque at a depth of 1/4 inch. Maxima is the color of light vegetable oil through which the legs shine through. Weighing 9.2 ounces per side, 2 bottles will make 3 replacements, 12-15 years, with a small margin. If you have an old Dyna, you MUST do this. BRIGHT! 1 hour in the
