Made of mild steel. The tip fell off the first stone I used it on. The price seemed good, but unfortunately it's not even worth a dollar. Don't buy this.
The chisel is great for finding fossils, but not the same as a handguard. It's good that I didn't hit it hard when it broke, I didn't hurt myself, but I didn't expect it to break with such a weak blow either.
I used it with a 4# hammer to break a poured concrete foundation while holding a post we dug up so I could use it could reuse. . It took me more strength than I expected, but it worked well and other than a comfortable hand fatigue I have nothing to complain about. Also, I now have a giant chisel.
