Skiwolf's info on modifying the bottom cover with metal snips helped me a lot

If Skiwulf hadn't mentioned an easy repair I might not have bought this item. The photos in her post were also very helpful. It is still connected to the laptop well. If I have time I will sand down the area I cut so there are no jagged edges, but this isn't really necessary as the area is so small and the way I use and carry my laptop, not likely to get caught on anything - anything or bite into my skin or clothing. Mods are really fun.

Beware of this case! Can easily damage or break screen hinges!

Another reviewer mentioned this, but it wasn't entirely clear where this case had problems. While it fits, this case severely limits the range of motion of the screen - it becomes impossible to open the screen further than about 90 degrees and the hinges can be easily damaged; Two photos are included showing the problem - normal range of motion of the screen and limited maximum range of motion after turning on the case. very good, just what I needed

Not sure why other reviewers said it blocked hinges. it's not like this. I have a 7th Gen Thinkpad X1 Carbon and everything fits like a glove. A plus is the small folding legs on the back, which keep the laptop at a slight angle to you when it's extended, which is nice.
