Description of MedVance TM Silicone Bordered Dressings

PROMOTES HEALING: MedVance bordered silicone dressings offer effective absorbency, are comfortable to use and provide the optimal environment to promote healing. The self adhesive multilayer structure helps create an optimum healing environment by keeping the wound moist and preventing contamination/activity. EASY TO APPLY AND REMOVE: Soft silicone adhesive acts as a wound contact layer that does not stick to the wound bed but stays intact to the skin thus prevents secondary damage and minimizes pain during dressing removal and change. SEMI-PERMEABLE: Semi–permeable PU film acts a liquid barrier while allows the passage of oxygen and water vapor. The multilayer structure works together to create a high absorbent yet breathable surface keeping the wound moist and sterile. STERILE AND INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED: Each dressing is manufactured in a sterile facility and are individually wrapped to prevent contamination of wounds. Can be used in hospitals, senior care homes, hospice, and other medical facilities. MULTI-USE: Effective for applications such as post-operative wounds, bed sores, cysts, pressure ulcers, burns, and other minor traumas. Approved for Level II of the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS). Use code A6212 for billing/claims.

Only Received One Headband

2nd Attempt of Customer Review: Received Only One Headband in Large Manila Envelope. I was expecting a $30 box of 5. Can a MedVance representative help me get the other four? UPDATE 11/23/2018. The other four never arrived.

Pros
  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons
  • Concise Instructions

Unusable and came off after 2 hours of use

Urinating is enough to get rid of things stuck on the skin. waste of money! You spend your $6 a piece on an incontinence. 2 hours of use and it has become useless as the urine has already separated the sticky part. Even stretch the skin so that there are no wrinkles when applied.

Pros
  • Neat work
Cons
  • Little things

Effective wound care at home.

This product is very effective in treating pressure sores on the buttocks. Bandages stay in place and cover most of the body. They may need to be changed more frequently than indicated if your patient is incontinent. They are expensive, but cost a lot less than wound care at a hospital or rehabilitation center.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Legacy model

Sterile First Aid Dressings

I am RN. This assignment aimed to solve a friend's problem. The product was exactly as advertised by Revain. Sterile, well packaged and tailored to the size of the wound. It stayed on until I changed it on day 3 and it gave my friend more comfort as opposed to a surgical bandage or a simple Vaseline gauze bandage. Will definitely order again and recommend.

  • Hands Free Operation

Great patches for the coccyx area!

My husband is paralyzed from the waist down and uses a wheelchair. He's always trying to get bed sores on his tailbone. For months we could not find anything to stick on in this area! These work great! They get stuck for more than 4 days what you expect them to do. However, you must cover them when showering as they swell up like a diaper.

Liked and works the same as the other brand

Same benefits as the Mepilex brand but cheaper. If you have skin that is tearing from a bandage (tape, cloth, etc.) this is for you. After seeing these silicone bandages in the hospital, I started looking for ways to save money since the Mepilex brand is very expensive. Not all forms are available on MedVance, but this one is. Love it and works just as well as the other brand. Thanks very much!

Bandage changed

I have been using this for my wife for almost 3 years. I liked the product. I received my most recent purchase and they redesigned the bandage and actually made it smaller. I checked to make sure I didn't accidentally order something different, but NO, it's the same product code and the exact same packaging and description. I don't like them at all, I will switch to another brand. I don't think MedVance believes in the old adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," but it's clear (to me) that…

Those sticks! for gauze and bandages

They are very difficult to get from insurance and are the best bandages. Especially with bed sores. I use medimed calcium alginate patches on the ulcer and then put this pad on. (Make sure you don't smear the edges with grease or powder and apply to the skin where there is no grease or powder where you want to stick the edges. If you do it right, they will hold up to three days and calcium aginate plasters heal and dry the wound, you can use them for any wound, you can cover the tattoo to heal,

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Plain, non-recommended cruciate bandages are better

I work in a hospital with several different products, so maybe I'm spoiled, but I really didn't like these bandages. On a dressing change on the continent, an outpatient with an open pressure ulcer, I noticed maceration around a healed wound area, even using Aquacel AG Advanced to protect the area. The lack of stretch in the adhesive makes it easy to apply well from the start, but isn't very forgiving if you miss the tailbone area when applying the bandage. Dressings soak through much quicker…
