I bought this as a gift for my 2 year old grandson and he loved it. He immediately went to listen to the hearts of all his stuffed animals. This vet kit has lots of great details. The thermometer rotates to show different "temperatures," the syringe has springs so it feels like you're vaccinating your pets, and the cloth patches have Velcro that sticks easily so you can wrap your paw. I bought this for my niece for Christmas. It hit her (and me) just right. The variety of items in the veterinary set allowed for endless plot variations. Since she had a dog and a cat, there were more stories to be told, and she quickly began taking her "temperature," applying bandages and medication, and generally having fun. My 15 month old loves it. We thought it would have a lot of the stuff a doctor's kit does plus two stuffed animals - so it's not a deal? The caveat is that there are many different bottles, and if you don't want your child to learn to open and close bottles at will, you can put them aside (I say that from experience).
