🏗️ Building Fun with Melissa & Doug Extra Thick Cardboard Construction Set Review

Always wanted to give one as a gift. When I had the opportunity to gift these blocks to my 3 year old great nephew I knew it was the right choice for him. He is curious, creative, loves trying out and manipulating new objects. I haven't heard of Mama and Papa, but I'm sure he'll have a lot of fun. What I liked about this gift was that while the blocks are quite large, once the game time was up, you could stack them to take them out later when they felt "new" again.

Big blocks are fun! Two of my boys (5 and 7) have had a set of red bricks for a long time and I decided to ask them if they liked the different sizes. My 7 year old son helped me put them together so you know they are easy to make and have since built forts, castles, houses and who knows what. I own several Melissa & Doug products and this is the first time I have been disappointed with one of their products. The blocks are really colorful and easy to build, but the material used is very smooth in my opinion. My grandson is just as upset as I am about the way they slip away from each other. You can build a stack if you're very, very careful, but it's very frustrating for kids. The lightest touch moves them in all directions. Even older children and adults get annoyed that they can't…

Pros: If you have ever assembled a banker box or any other corrugated box, this will be easy for you, no instruction needed. Took me about 15 minutes to assemble them all.
