Essence is very light but moisturizing. It has an almost veil-like finish that helps your skin feel supple and smooth once it dries (much like applying a thin layer of face gel foundation). I tried it on my hands and it instantly moisturized and softened the back of my hand. I had low expectations. I have never used essence but my Korean friend told me to try the 10 step skincare method. This was the very last product I used in my routine and after using it only at night for two days my skin had a completely different look and feel. My tone has evened out. This is the BEST essence I have ever used! It's very moisturizing. My first use of this essence left my skin moisturized and soft all day long! It is odorless and you only need 2-3 drops and it will cover your entire face, neck and décolleté. I will definitely buy it again and keep it as a staple in my skincare routine.

Edit: I was too lazy to return it and I think my face is getting used to the product - it doesn't sting anymore, it's still not crazy hydrating like I was hoping, but i think mine is the face lightens a little - as dark spots lighten a little. I really like this tonic. I always use Mizon. I exfoliated the first two days of use (morning and evening) and noticed that the skin is smoother. I'm not sure if this is normal as I don't read or speak Korean. I will never use anything else

I have been using this product for a little over a month and I love how it hydrates and seems to balance my skin. I have acne scars and the redness has definitely gone down and my skin tone has become more even.
