🔲 19113 Monarch Abode Hand Hammered Matte Black 1 Gang Switch Plate Review

This is a beautiful hammered light switch cover. As others have said it's a lot darker than the photo but this copper is unsealed so it's a vibrant finish. I'm sure it can be lighted and sealed if you wish.

Looks very nice. The screws were too long for a few spots on the backsplash, but the electrician's wire stripping tool only had taps for that type of problem. The oversized slab also helped with the tile gap showing multiple spots.

The panel itself is nice, the "chiseled" pattern looks a bit polka dot but overall it's solid. However, the bands they ship with to match copper are NOT durable AT ALL. And I received two different colored screws which I received in two packages with brass colored screws and copper colored screws.

After trying to replace a regular plastic switch plate I found this "hammered" metal plate. and it's wonderful! Has a good weight/feel and is sturdy too; didn't bend like plastic and was a thousand times better than the diamond plate sticker I ordered elsewhere (what a bummer).

Pretty nice, although less chiseled than "stamped dots". Also, the included black screws are too long to fit a standard socket, so I ended up having to order shorter screws if I don't want them hanging around and looking messy. A screw was never finished and didn't have a slot for a screwdriver or threads to actually install it.

These panels won't sink properly because they aren't shaped properly, causing you to overtighten them and leave them bent with gaps on the sides. Then comes matte black with screws that for some reason are too long so you have to go to the hardware store or have them screwed in and crunch at the bottom of the screw holes. If they were cheaper I'd say they're great, but at this price I can't recommend them. I can only hope that the manufacturers of this product take note and improve.
