Bad quality control. Will try other brands

I checked this thermostat because I was worried it wouldn't open and found it only started to open at 180 degrees. We return and look for the best.

For modified engine only

Runs as intended but too cold for stock LS2. Don't do this unless you have forced induction or for racing or may be fine in very hot climates as long as you run in hot weather.

Pros
  • Engine cooling and air conditioning
Cons
  • Upgrade available

BEWARE! Gasket too small for factory LS body

Make sure you use the factory gasket from the original LS thermostat. The gasket supplied with the 160 thermostat is too small for the thermostat housing. It can and will leak if you don't replace the gasket. What baffles me is the fact that Mr. Gasket and Motorad (same thermostat) designed the thermostat and supplied a gasket that is slightly smaller than the factory gasket. Big failure.
