Good taste and texture! Bought to try before we actually had a natural disaster. I will buy to have on hand. That's true of every Mountain House product I've tried. Freeze-dried foods seem to be better than canned foods. They're a little pricey, but considering they're actually edible, not that much.

Definitely my favorite meal when we're out in the country for a few weeks. I can always buy them "voluntarily" for our products. There's nothing quite like being on top, walking all day and eating it for dinner! They're easy to pack, light weight, each pack holds 2 and they taste great. Used them in winter, summer and fall. I've tried other dishes from MH but keep coming back to this one. I will stock them all year round and keep an eye on them when they go on sale.

Delicious freeze-dried products are hard to find. The Berghaus succeeded here! The taste is wonderful. You can definitely share this pack with two people if you have other groceries, or you can eat alone. I have done both. I also recommend leaving food sealed in hot water longer than recommended. Mine wasn't fully finished after the recommended time. Make sure it's sealed well and give it a few more minutes. Overall easy to use and you can eat out of your pocket!

I tried different Mountain House dishes to see which ones would fit in my family's first aid kit. There are mushrooms and onions in the mix, but I couldn't tell the difference between the sauce and the beef cuts. It might be unconventional for this dish, but I'd love to have some green veggies like peas or broccoli in it. Overall it tasted good but I don't want it to be my meal. So I bought it to test with my son. I also wanted to make sure he would eat the food we brought. After a few bites, he noticed a flaw in his food. I didn't believe him at first. So when I looked at it, it really was a mistake. If it was just one, I'd write him off as a stray, but the food was FULL of bugs. Worst of all, when I contacted the company, they blamed Revain. What?
