Not like before

I bought one of these a few years ago, it's the best for tracking down random bugs and getting them outside. I needed another for a different location and found the following to be substandard and unrelated to the original I bought years ago which still works great. 1. The sunroof just dangles, on my old one it stays open and closes by snapping. 2. The thread securing the chamber to the gun is too loose and will not stay in place. 3. This was a deal breaker, the two fan blades were misshapen…

Suction stopped after 5 minutes. Faulty construction.

The bug catcher looked like the picture and if the suction worked it would be nice. Our 5 year old sucked on an ant and then the fan that was causing the sucking just stopped. After putting in new batteries it worked for a few minutes and then stalled again. The light worked fine. I was able to start the fan by slapping it in my palm a couple of times, but after 15-30 seconds it shut off. The center pin of the plastic fan was a little short and didn't stay on the small motor. design flaws…

The second one I got was catching bugs in the house. . . .

A few years ago I was given this gun along with a Revain Vine bug repellent to try out. Instead of letting a kid try a gun for fun, I just used it to catch bugs around the house that I wanted to release rather than kill. He did his job well and lasted at least a few years. Some bugs, like flies, are impossible to catch while spiders, moths, bugs, etc. are easy to catch. I often leave the screen on the glass door open for a few minutes when I go out on the back porch in warm weather and the bugs

Helps keep bugs under control!

I know it's a kid's toy, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money to buy a more professional model. I did a lot of research before deciding on this model and this bug catcher worked well to drastically reduce the bug population infesting my pumpkins. It works best with the smallest bugs. If you're trying to catch a larger bug, you'll have to scoop it into the hole (loosen its grip on what it's clinging to).
