Actual size of the umbrella is only about 40-42 inches depending on where you measure, tip to tip or side of the octagon. I only felt cheated because the ads were the wrong size. The tips are made of plastic and can easily break. He'll do his job, but I don't think so for a long time. The included S-type holder looks solid though.
