Enhance Your Photo Studio Lighting with Neewer's 20-Piece Camera Flash Gels Color Correction Filter Kit Review

This gel filter set works great with my flash. Well organized set of different colors. My photos look really good with these filters, I like reds, pinks and purples best, but yellows and oranges give really nice warm tones. The rubber rings hold the filter in place and fit snugly so no flash sticks out.

The quality of these filters is pretty good and the best price we can get. There are many colors to choose from to create different atmospheres and, most importantly, they are translucent but not flimsy (not cheap at all). It's easy to use, just place them in front of the flash and put the rubber band on it. I have used them many times in a row!

Very reasonably priced, the elastics that attach the gels to the SpeedLight are strong enough and the handles make it easy to add gels. Color correction gels allow me to match the color of the speed light to the ambient lighting in the room. Theater gels enable creativity. I have two complete sets of these gels that allow me to use multiple flashes with the right color balance or special color effects.

I've ordered a couple of these packs and I'm not very happy with them. The gels are very thin and not big enough to cover the AD200 head 100% while the selenium gels I have also cover. In order to get maximum color saturation from the gels it's very important to block out all white light coming from the flash, so I'll probably need to put sealing tape over the flash head to prevent light from entering. I think these gels will work fine but I wouldn't buy them again and might return them.

This is the only thing I've ever bought from Neewer that just doesn't cost anything. I have never seen such cheap gels in my two and a half decades of photography. I would return them but they are not worth the time and trouble. I have never been so surprised when I received them as everything else I have received from Neewer has exceeded my expectations. I use a Cactus Flash head with these gels. The cactus heads are slightly larger than the gels are likely intended. Rubber bands are almost impossible to use as they are thick and very strong, and they might be great on other heads. It doesn't matter because rubber bands are cheap and easy to find and any rubber band will do. The gels are then slightly smaller than the face of Cactus flash a well, but there still doesn't seem to be any noticeable shedding as the gels don't cover the entire face…
