Only lasted 3 months

I bought these shoes in June 2020 for my 13 year old son. It's mid-October and the shoes are falling apart. My child spends a decent amount of time outside, but not so much that I would expect his shoes to have holes all over the fabric around the toes in just three months. Therefore three stars: excellent in terms of comfort and support, mediocre in terms of workmanship/upper material quality. I will look for another brand of shoes for my child to get through the fall.

Pros
  • Adjustable lace up closure for a custom fit
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Ideal for orthopedic ankle braces

These x-wide shoes are fantastic. I've been on a mission/fight for a year now to find an attractive shoe to match my son's AFO. It broke my heart to hear my 6 year old son ask me why he couldn't have shoes like the other kids at school. I first bought a large, cheap pair of Velcro shoes at Walmart because my options were limited. They fell apart quickly. In the end, my son is delighted with these cool shoes. Lots of kids wear braces and there should be more options. Thanks New Balance for…

Pros
  • Seamless upper construction for a smooth fit and feel
Cons
  • New competition has arrived

Good enough

My son has been wearing the new balancers since he can walk because he has a wide foot and they have always given him the support he needs. I believe the support in this pair is at the level I have come to expect over the years. However, the quality is lower than expected. This was the first year I'd let him choose his own shoes, so I'll admit they might not have been the ones I would have gone with, but he wanted something that matched his uniform requirements and wasn't so "boring" " is how I

Pros
  • Rubber sole
Cons
  • Long delivery time
