It's almost impossible for me to find shoes that are wide enough for my 2.5 year old. The length and width of their shoes are almost the same, so I can't even close the velcro on "regular" shoes! These shoes are really xw and easy to put on and wear. Thank you NewBalance!

I had to return. Bought wide size. Unfortunately it didn't match my daughter's SMO suspenders. It's not Velcro, so the Velcro doesn't cross the other side of the shoe, i.e. the strap. If you're looking for a shoe that would fit a kid with braces but need velcro, I would recommend the New Balance 680v5 Kids Hook and Loop Sneakers. I bought these after this shoe and they are great for SMO if you have width.

However, there is one disadvantage that is unfortunately decisive for me: The foam midsole is too thick and blocky. It is not adapted to the wobbly movements of babies.
